At the default 1.2 mm, a thin pen line is still easy to trace; if you print on heavier card stock, bump it to 2.0 mm so the walls don't break when crayons press down. The paper size select automatically sets the PNG export size — 2550×3300 pixels for Letter at 300 DPI — so you never have to think about resolution.

No tool is perfect for every image. The photo-to-maze logic downscales uploads to 1200 pixels on the longest edge, which is plenty for a sharp maze but means a tiny distant subject may lose detail. Transparent PNGs are flattened onto white before processing, so an image with transparent areas will not produce a cut-out maze; the background simply becomes part of the silhouette. If your maze looks too busy or unrecognizable, try increasing contrast in a free image editor first, or lower the detail slider to 24 or below.
We don't guarantee that every maze will be perfectly solvable by a child on the first try. The Easy setting adds loops, but a complex photo with detail at 48 can still create long dead ends. Always print a test copy before making 30 for a classroom. Paper standards are followed: A4 output matches ISO 216 dimensions, and Letter matches US customary sizes, so the PDF should scale correctly on any home printer.
