Grade points × credit hours, summed and divided by the credits you actually counted.

A 4-credit A counts double a 2-credit A. Credits outside 0.5–30 are flagged and excluded instead of poisoning the average.
Add a prior GPA for the cumulative figure, or a target GPA and remaining credits to see the average you still need.
Grading scales supported
Whole letters only: A 4.0, B 3.0, C 2.0, D 1.0, F 0.0 — the scale most US college transcripts use.
Adds plus/minus grades: A− 3.7, B+ 3.3, C− 1.7 and the rest, for schools that report them.
Enter each module mark 0–100; the headline is your weighted average and the approximate 4.0-scale GPA is shown beside it.
First, 2:1, 2:2, Third or Fail per module — banded results are weighted on nominal midpoints (First 75, 2:1 65, 2:2 55, Third 45, Fail 30).
Band boundaries are a linear map of the weighted average (70+ First, 60–69 2:1, 50–59 2:2, 40–49 Third, below 40 Fail). It is an approximation, not an official university or UCAS conversion.
FAQ
How is GPA calculated?
GPA = Σ(grade points × credit hours) ÷ Σ(credit hours). Only fully filled rows count: a grade with no credits, or credits with no grade, is skipped silently rather than treated as a zero.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. There is no server call in the calculator at all — the arithmetic runs in this page, so your grades never leave the device.
What does the cumulative GPA need?
Both a prior GPA and the credit hours behind it. Cumulative = (prior GPA × prior credits + this term's grade points) ÷ (prior credits + counted credits).
Why is my target called "not feasible"?
If the required average would top the scale maximum (4.00 GPA, or 100% on a UK scale), no grade can get you there — the tool says so instead of printing an impossible grade.
Does it handle weighted or unweighted high-school GPA?
This is a college credit-hour calculator. If your school adds AP/IB weight, add the bonus to each grade point mentally or pick the 4.0 ± scale and round.
What about pass/fail or withdrawn courses?
Leave them out — pass/fail and W grades carry no grade points, so including them would drag your average down incorrectly.
