Average per year of service
EGP —
Calculated with
—
Estimate based on the commonly applied scale of Egyptian Labor Law 12/2003 (Articles 126–128): half a month of basic wage per year for the first five years and one month per year after. Final entitlement is determined by your contract and the competent authority.
How it works
Three numbers in, a transparent estimate out — no forms, no email, no waiting.
Use the last monthly basic wage on your payslip — or toggle allowances to fold in recurring transport/meal money.
Years and extra months of continuous service, then the reason you left. The formula adapts automatically.

The rate scale used
The calculator applies the widely used private-sector scale derived from Egyptian Labor Law 12/2003.
Employer ends the contract
Full rate
- • First 5 years: ½ month basic per year
- • Years 6+: 1 month basic per year
- • Partial months prorated
Resignation 5–10 yrs
⅔ of full
Reduced gratuity when you resign before completing ten years of service.
Resignation under 5 yrs
½ month / yr
Reduced formula: half a month of basic wage per year, no post-5-year bonus.
Same as full rate
Resignation after 10 years and retirement both keep the full rate — the reason picker shows you the same total so the law is transparent, not a black box.
Recurring allowances
Toggle allowances on to add a fixed monthly transport/meal allowance to your base before the monthly fractions are applied.
FAQ — frequently asked questions
Short answers about the مكافأة نهاية الخدمة estimate.
Is this the amount my employer must pay me?
The calculator models the commonly applied end-of-service gratuity scale under Egyptian Labor Law 12/2003 for private-sector contracts: ½ month of basic wage per year for the first five years and one full month per year afterwards. Whether you qualify — and the exact base used — depends on your contract, your employer and the competent authority, so treat the number as a fast, well-documented estimate.
Why is my resignation result lower than a termination result?
Under the scale used here, resigning before completing ten years of service reduces the entitlement: 5–10 years earns ⅔ of the full gratuity, and under 5 years earns only ½ month of basic wage per year with no post-5-year bonus. After 10 years, resignation keeps the full rate, which is why that option matches employer-led termination.
Which salary should I enter?
Enter your last monthly basic salary (الراتب الأساسي) from your payslip. Variable pay, overtime and one-off bonuses are excluded. If you receive fixed recurring allowances such as transport or meal money, switch on “Include recurring allowances” to add them to the base.
What happens if I was let go for misconduct?
Gratuity for a termination tied to a serious disciplinary cause is treated differently and is usually not payable at the full rate. This calculator assumes a non-disciplinary end of service — if your case is disputed, an employment-law advisor is the right next step.
Is this the same as my Social Insurance payout?
No. The employer-paid gratuity under the Labor Law is separate from insured end-of-service benefits paid through the Social Insurance system. This tool estimates the employer-side مكافأة نهاية الخدمة only.
Do I pay tax on the gratuity?
The estimate is the gross EGP amount before any payroll or income-tax treatment your employer applies. Confirm withholding rules with an accountant when you receive the settlement.
