Features

Instant results

Every keystroke recalculates the tip, total and per-person share — nothing to submit, nothing to wait for.

Fair group splits

Splitting for up to 50 people stays exact: leftover cents go to the first payers so the breakdown always adds back up to the total.

Round-up cash mode

Round each share up to the nearest dollar for penny-free cash settlements, with the small overage called out so the group can verify.

USD & CAD

Switch between US dollars and Canadian dollars — symbols, amounts and formatting update everywhere.

FAQ

Is my bill or tip saved anywhere?

No. Every calculation runs on the server for that one request only โ€” nothing is stored, and no account or personal data is collected.

Should I tip on the pre-tax or after-tax amount?

That's your choice โ€” tip on whatever you enter. Put in the pre-tax subtotal if you tip on food and drinks only, or the full check total if you tip on everything.

What does round-up actually do?

It raises each person's share to the next whole dollar so nobody has to deal with pennies. When the rounded shares collect a little more than the exact total, the difference is shown clearly โ€” most groups simply treat it as a rounder tip.

Why does Payer 1 sometimes owe an extra cent?

When a total doesn't divide evenly by the party size, the leftover cent or cents go to the first payer rows (marked +1ยข). That keeps every row whole and the breakdown summing exactly to the total.

How large a group can split the bill?

Up to 50 people. If you leave the party size blank or set it to 0, the calculator quietly treats it as 1 person.
