FAQ
Is the conversion astronomically exact?
No calendar can be exact for Hijri dates, because months start at moon sighting. This tool uses the standard tabular (arithmetic) Hijri calendar, which can differ by ±1–2 days from observed or Umm al-Qura calendars. For the start of Ramadan or Eid, always confirm the date with your local religious authority.
Why is a day like 30 Safar sometimes invalid?
Hijri months alternate between 29 and 30 days, and the 12th month has 30 days only in leap years. If you enter a day that a month does not have (for example 30 Safar, or 30 February), the tool explains the problem and suggests the nearest valid day — you can apply it with one tap.
What date range is supported?
Hijri years 1300–1500 (roughly CE 1882–2077) and Gregorian years 1900–2100. Years outside the range are clamped to the nearest boundary and a note is shown, so the result never silently uses the wrong century.
Does my date leave my device?
No. There are no server calls at all: the full conversion, validation and Arabic formatting logic ships inside the page. Your date never leaves your browser.
How does the Today button work?
It reads the current Gregorian date from your device, then fills the fields in the selected direction — so in Hijri → Gregorian mode it enters today’s Hijri date, and in Gregorian → Hijri mode it enters today’s Gregorian date.
How is the weekday calculated?
Every Hijri date maps to one civil (Gregorian) day, and the weekday is computed from that real civil day including leap years — so the weekday is always the one you would see on a wall calendar.
