Where does the exchange rate come from?+
The tool fetches a live EUR/USD reference rate through our gateway and refreshes it about once an hour, showing the timestamp under the result. Banks and payment providers add their own margin on top.
Can I type an amount like 1.234,56?+
Yes. 1.234,56 (German), 1,234.56 (US) and plain 1234.56 are all parsed correctly. Up to 1,000,000 with decimals is supported.
Why is the result different from my bank's?+
You are seeing the mid-market reference rate. Banks, card networks and exchanges buy and sell at their own rates and add fees — that gap is normal.
What does the Cached badge mean?+
When the live feed is temporarily unavailable, the last known good rate stored on your device is shown with a clear Cached badge — never a silently stale number. Use Try again to reload.
Is my amount sent anywhere?+
